“if she was slick she would have gotten you some free drinks out of it.”
Haha, not a bad idea, but that might be asking for trouble. I was hoping her single sister would do that and take one for the team, but she was also not too interested in the unwanted attention.
“What would you have done in that situation, i.e., if your wife was the subject of unsolicited but not aggressive advances at a bar / club while you were nearby? For some reason, I immediately wondered, “What would Lech do?””

1: Again, popular stuff sells, but that’s falling into the trap you’re accusing the sheeple of- the idea that the only value of art is the money you could get for it. The actual relative personal value of the art to either the artist or the individual viewer is not necessarily changed. There are plenty of artists who have been disliked for long periods of time and continued to make art that they found rewarding. It is also true that interesting discussions can arise from a wide variety of art, not all of it universally interesting to all people, and that this discussion (presumably more high-minded than your cocktail part discussion?) also has value.
2: Scientific inquiry is, on some level, directed by the culture in which it takes place. Not absolutely, but what people are talking about and what people are interested in will help direct funding, help determine what scientists are even wondering about to begin with, etc.
It isn’t quite as cut and dried as you make it sound.
Lech, I have a question for you. After dinner on Saturday night, I went with Mrs. C and her sisters to see a band perform. It was a standing room only venue. I was standing behind the ladies and, on a couple of occasions, different men came up to Mrs. C and tried to make conversation / pick her up, likely not realizing I was with her. I debated saying something to them (or subtly moving in and putting my arm around her) but ultimately ended up just standing back and letting Mrs. C handle the situation herself, unless the guy got overly aggressive, in which case I would have jumped in. Each time, Mrs. C just shooed off the guy and moved away.

They don’t graze the cattle. The NY State ranchers from whom they buy the beef do. I don’t know.

Biff, ditto what Bxgrl said.
Biff- I think that’s a better question to ask your wife 🙂

“they make beef jerky from grass fed locally raised cattle,”
Where do they graze the cattle?
Lech- both scenarios are true and false.
