sorry to hear about your goldfish donatella. :o(
Here’s an idea,
a large 50 gallon tank with just one goldfish and a filter.
No gravel, only a large rock or fake plant for the fish to play around with.
With a low intensity flourescent light shining into the water.
It would be a soothing and therapeutic addition to any room with very little maintenance.
bfarwell, yeah, I could see the whole sitdown part, that makes sense. But out of hand to reject someone who is 60 seems sort of anti-human.
The stitches were due to the kitten getting fixed? stitches/ripping sounds awful. When my cat got a cancerous bump taken off his back, the whole shaving and stitches thing was so awful, I full out cried my heart out looking at him like that. He lived till 20 though. Had a great life with me.
Interesting take on a familiar story line.
An artist’s descent into madness.
Perhaps best exemplified by The Shining.
Natalie Portman’s performance was quite good as the
prima ballerina, great physicality.
I found the direction, which was purposefully claustrophobic, to be effective in conveying the untethered sense of a character on the brink.
The film had a gritty 70’s feel to it with its use of the New York City environment, similar to
Looking For Mr. Goodbar or The Eyes of Laura Mars.
Interesting supporting cast with Mila Kunich and Winona Ryder. All in all a good film, fleshing out the Mother/Daughter angle a bit more with Barbara Hershey (underutilized) and pushing more of the thriller angle, would have made it a very good film.

Just went to lunch and thinking about some shelters not allowing 60+ to adopt. Maybe they should hook up with a life insurance company and do actuarial studies on human croak/kitten croak probabilities. Or say if you want to buy life insurance and you do well on your physical, they could throw in a kitten as a promotion.

Tomorrow’s review:
The King’s Speech
bfarwell- one of MM’s cats did that to himself. We think he fell and ripped himself open. Under his right arm. He wasn’t under warranty.
Unsolicited OT Film Review:

“What’s the matter with you, Slopey? Have you been drinking?”
To what are you objecting exactly, Slopey? That was dave’s ad hominem remark attacking me.
denton, luckily, the beemers are pretty heavy else you should be worried it’ll get sucked up and blown away
“I’m seeing you more as Demi Moore than Tom Cruise.”
I strenuously object to that remark, CGar.
