“As an American, I’m embarrassed that he had to take the time away from the real problems in this country to try to appease a bunch of idiots who wouldn’t believe Obama was born in this country if they were present at the event. ”
Sorry, DH, gotta answer this one, and then I’m outta here anyway.
Dave, what language would that be? He can’t win with these people, period. He’s a black man who made it to the highest office in the country, and they will NEVER accept that, or him. He doesn’t have the luxury Bill Clinton had of being an extremely intelligent and highly educated man behind the facade of his back woods accent and Bubba ways. Love him, or hate him, he was a genius at being able to appeal to both the intellectuals, who knew he had a brain, and the rednecks who thought he was one of them.
Obama is who he is. What’s he supposed to change? If he were “blacker” (an absurdity in so many ways) they wouldn’t take him seriously, and he’d be feeding into a whole new set of stereotypes. As it is, his detractors are still snickering at flyers and emails with him portrayed as a monkey, or having watermelon hunts on the White House lawn.
It’s about time this country got it into its collective head that black people are not a monolith. We are not all poor, not all uneducated, and not all of us speak in Ebonics, or in any identifiable “black cadence” at all. I don’t think any of us have seen too much of the real Barak Obama, because he doesn’t dare relax in public. They’d be on him like rabid wolves.
right rob- I’m sure you conducted a scientific poll. and if you do see graphic artists in your “cafe”, it’s because most of us are freelancers and work remotely. It also happens to be intensive work with a lot of steps and attention to detail. But trying to explain what we do and how we do it is just an exercise in futility on the OT anyway.
Hi chicken! And no- he would not make a good president.

I couldn’t agree more.

bfarwell, they are doing what any animal does when it no longer has to hunt to survive. It gets lazy and useless.
Give a wild animal a lifetime supply of food and it does the equivalent of sitting around in coffee shops pretending to write a novel.
the graphic freelancers we hire make a TON of money. it’s kinda gross the sums of money we throw at them for like 2 weeks of work.
I think they’re really sitting around their coffee shops writing their blogs which are going to be made into major indy motion pictures any day now.
“Would Donald Trump not make a good president?”
chicken, I have this to say about that…
BAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
