  1. MM…what I was saying is that if Obama expects to appeal to a broader audience he has to learn to speak their language, He currently is not. There’s no bogey man to run against this time. The election is his to lose.

If someone else comes along and hits all the bells and whistles in a manner that appeals to a briader audience AND unemployment stays where it is, O will lose.

Totally out of his control but if unemployment gets to below 8% by the election, he will remain in office.

  2. ask any single person sitting in a coffee shop in the middle of the day and 9 out of 10 will tell you they are freelance graphic designers. and that 10th person will be breastfeeding.

  3. Morning all… because I’m a nice guy, I just sent all the students out to shoot documentary interviews on the street. Which is great for them, but it means i’m still trapped inside for another hour.

Also, FIT has some ridiculous ‘you need to change your PW every x months’ policy. Which is fine, except that after probably 50-100 attempts at doing that, I wasn’t able to actually get it to change, and so can’t login to do any class-related work, and will have to go hang out with IT after class. Ugh.

  4. lol bxgirl why are you getting offended? perhaps you are a real one, but a vast majority of graphic artists are complete phonies!!! sorry but sitting in a coffee shop editing out your pimples on your facebook page does not a graphic artist make.

  5. “that’s even MORE barfy than people who get parental support. in fact that might even be WORSE!”

being fiscally responsible is worse than living beyond ones means and always complaining about being broke?

i wish i coulda lived at home the first few years after college.

  6. “Pete, they must be graphic artists. When I lived in SF, the bulk of their work consisted of downloading large files while watching tv or sitting in cafes.”

Ahem- graphic artist here, mopar. That was rather un-christian of you. I’d layout a typical workday for everyone but I wouldn’t want to ruin their image of us just lolling around in cafes or watching tv.

  7. “I find myself filled with an urge to punch Donald Trump right in the nutsack.”

    Crude, but can’t agree more.

I listened to the Pres. press announcement. As an American, I’m embarrassed that he had to take the time away from the real problems in this country to try to appease a bunch of idiots who wouldn’t believe Obama was born in this country if they were present at the event.

    And Donald Trump???? Please.

Please Dave, condescending tone? What else could one’s tone be when he has to waste his time dealing with these fools? I’d be in lecture mode too, if the non-issue of my birthplace kept getting front page coverage, while the many, and I do mean MANY, positive accomplishments of this administration keep getting obscured by stupidity. Yeah, there’s a long way to go in the economy, with wars and health care, the deficit, etc, etc, always present, but our bodies of elected representatives seem to be too busy either trying to destroy the other party, or campaigning for themselves, trying to get their faces on the front page by championing idiot causes, like the birther movement, or worrying about what gay people are up to, or trying to revoke Roe V Wade.
