  1. i think NJ likes to call themselves #1 in education just to justify the insane property taxes and outrageous teacher salaries. (teachers are 10 years make upwards of 130K a year!) same with long island

    *rob*

  2. A good friend tended/managed a bar in the village, would sometimes have to remind eurotourists about tipping several times a night.

Of course, some might say that paying a universal living wage would eliminate this problem…

  3. I love the delivery guy from my grocery. He’s a sweetheart. I always give him a nice tip on top of the delivery charge.

“uh because are a modest and coy people who don’t like to make other people feel bad perhaps!?”

    Haaaahahahahahahah!!!!!!! LOL, rob!

  4. “Dh, THOSE guys I always overtip. I appreciate delivery to my house a lot and those guys really work for their money. ”

yeah, definitely. man, i felt really shitty one night i ordered delivery and apparently a monsoon had started outside and i had no idea. dude was SOAKED and i didn’t have that much to tip as i normally do 🙁

  5. dont know if NJ is #1 or not but they for sure has been in the top 5 rank for a long while and I wouldnt be shocked they’re #1. think Jersey is #1 in avg family income too, along with ppty tax, etc.

  6. lol donatella,

    I feel the same way.
To this day, my father feels the need to “chat” with the waiter or waitress.
And I usually end up interpreting the joke or apologizing some how.
I make a note of their name and say thank you when needed.
That’s the extent of my interaction usually.
