There was a recent survey done of the top 2% and the majority felt that one was not rich unless they had over $7MM in net worth. I kinda agree with that.
“”Rich” is not actually a measure of income bu t a measure of wealth or assets. Most people making $250k have not accumulated sizeable assets.”
I think we had this debate months ago – but making $250 let’s say in Indiana is NOT the same as making $250K here in NYC. You could very well accumulate sizeable assets in both areas, however the worth of your assets (house) in NYC would me much more.
My Times subscription is a total wreck. I have home delivery but ex-bf uses the digital. We tried to line up all the ducks before deadline but now neither of us has free access – after hours w/ people on the phone.
“Q: Can I create more than one NYTimes.com account that corresponds to my subscription?
A: If you’re a digital-only subscriber, you can create only one account (with one e-mail address and password)â€
Hmm…so only one e-mail address. I guess we could set up an email account and call it gemibaby at gmail or something and both log on from our separate computers/mobile devices…. rf – would that work?
I think you could probably sum up Mr. B’s target demographic for the site as “People who think that $250K income a year makes you middle class.”

“gemibaby”
Haha. Funny, jb.

There are several ways around the NYTimes article limit.
For one that is not illegal but probably unethical, search for “NYTClean”
It is amazing to me how many people consider themselves to be “middle class.” Very few will label themselves “rich.”
“But to call people making $250k “rich” is absurd”
I agree with dave, on this one. Certainly not in a city like New York.
Didn’t we have this discussion in HOTD last week???
