“I liked it when the lines also had names. My favorite was the “Sea Beach” line”
Last time I looked, the official subway maps had the line names for the 4 lines to Coney Island – Culver, Brighton, Sea Beach, West End.
There is a lot of history behind those names and lines, much of it tied into Coney Island resorts of the late 1800s.
Last night I had a drink with a former concert promoter who’d done a ton of shows around New England in the 80s and 80s, and a US attorney. After the drink the attorney went back to work and I asked him how long he would be there; “Oh, I have a rule, no later than 11:45,” he said. I’m wondering if you know the promoter, I’ll tell you the name next time I see you.
I still use all the old names. All of them. I can’t be asked to keep changing. (channeling *rob*) Maybe this is why all of the newcomers and young people never know what I am talking about.
I liked it when the lines also had names. My favorite was the “Sea Beach” line, which is the present “N” line that goes to Coney Island. The name is so evocative of a summer day at the beach.
I think CGar needs to get laid. He’s in such a mood today.

Thanks a lot, dave!!!!!
Oh, for God’s sake, m4l, dave sounded like he might be pissed at me earlier, so I asked him. Sheesh.

…dry mouth….
…headache….
…confused, disoriented…
I signed one of my deals very late last night, and bars were still open and my team was thirsty. Why do irish car bombs have to be so delicious?

Dave,
Breathe deep.
You will make the money back.

CGar, m4l. he must have nothing better to do at work.
