Slopey – You can buy new gaskets which might help – the rubber tubing around the door. They’re usually pretty easy to install. As to a lock, depending on what kind of door it is, Babies R Us sells various temporary latch things that might work – I’ve seen them for lower freezer doors.
Legion- it just never occurs to you that perhaps we see different causes and effects? No- it wouldn’t. Because you are so certain only your take is the correct one. Well, the world is full of people hitting their heads against brick walls because they can only tolerate one point of view- their own. You seem to think you are the only one smart enough or clear-eyed enough to know things. I think the varying points of view so well-represented even just here on the OT should have taught you something. But your takeaway is that everyone else is wrong and only you are right. Good luck with that.
I swear sometimes I think Lechacal and Legion are the same person.

When I was growing up my parents had plenty of assets, but those assets never included cash, so I got hand me down clothes and bowl haircuts from my mom. I basically grew up thinking I was poor because everyone else had a tv and nintendo or whatever and I didn’t have any of that stuff, but looking back I guess I grew up kind of wealthy but with a totally fake patina of poverty.
