  1. “come on now dh,
you seem to arguing both sides,
on the one hand you say a certain group in this country
    is disenfranchised
on the other hand you say other needy groups around the world shouldn’t compete as well.”

I’ve never proclaimed to be on one side or the other.

Everyone debates this shit based off opposite extremes.

  2. “If you got an A cause you studied and really received a B while other slacked, would you study just as hard to get an A again knowing you’ll get a B or a C?”

Of course in the real world, what we find is the people with well off parents send the kids for tutoring.

  3. “denton, you were not arguing about the level of estate taxes, you were saying that inheritance should be completely taxed away.

Which is it, 100% or not???? Now you’re being an ass which is probably what Mrs. D thinks!!!! 🙂

dibs, read my original post. I said CLOSE TO 100%.

I would allow maybe 20k, maybe 50k, maybe some relief for farms, small biz, special situations, etc.

Currently, I believe the exemption is $2 million, no?

HOW MUCH MORE do the repubs insist on? While insisting we’re a meritocracy?

Yes, Mrs. D would love to stake da kid to a nice 3br condo in Manhattan, a country house, and who knows what else.

I plan to do what that bumper sticker says, ‘I’m spending my kid’s inheritance’.

on the other hand you say other needy groups around the world shouldn’t compete as well.

Which brings you back to a feasable solution,
allow them all to run the race while taking care of those
    that fall along the way.

As opposed to letting everyone compete, then stopping every time someone falls to discuss the situation, make amends, bandage them up and tend to their emotional well being until everyone realizes that they never even completed the race because they got too bogged down in saying it was an unfair exercise and running makes you tired.
