Kitten is about 3 1/2 weeks old.I got puppy training pads, she is so tiny. Going to be blind- when we found her her eyes were already swollen shut. One eye might be salvageable- at least to see some light, the other is completely gone. Beautiful little thing though.

My local bodega, Yafa, run by lovely guys from Yemen stocks a number of interesting food items.
The other day with my blood sugar on the low side, I found myself staring at the Hostess display with a kind of morbid curiosity.
Do you remember Hostess SNOWBALLS? Those large spongy balls with some kind of cake on the inside but the outside is a spongy white covering about 1/4 inch thick with coconut fuzz on the outside? There is no expiration date because they NEVER expire. Now they come in GREEN! A kind of radioactive green. Sitting there right next to the twinkies, hostess cupcakes, devil dogs, and ring dings. YUMMMM.

The school waiting list thread is kind of funny.
It’s like people are just now realizing that they actually live in New York City. For the past few years real estate has been priced as if the risks of living in the city had completely disappeared.
My birds would’ve freaked you out then, *rob*, because they talked. And they followed me around the house.
They used to say things like, “Come here. What are you doing? Get off my keyboard. Sit on my shoulder. Don’t eat my dinner. Silly bird.”
