  1. lechacal,

You and the Mrs. just have to find what style you both have in common then stick to that theme.
    Are you:
    Art Deco ?
    Shaker?
    Modernist?
    Traditionalist?
    French Provencial?
    Victorian?

Many times the house itself sets the theme.
It’s hard being a Modernist inside a Victorian.

…see what happens when you watch too much HGTV?

  2. “I just moved in part for tax reasons. I am no longer paying NYC income tax. That alone will offset a good home decoration budget in the first year alone.”

How do your income tax savings compare with increased prop tax bill? Also, how did you get stuck with primary responsibility for interior design issues? Perhaps you should fail your next interior design assignment.

  3. Fuck this, I’m canceling the couch and insisting that we go back to the way my apartment was decorated in law school: dart board, talking plastic figures of austin powers and dr evil, and an unframed poster of a hydrogen bomb going off.

  4. “I do not know of anyone who has ever claimed that estate taxes caused them to move.”

Then you and I must run in different social circles. I know boatloads of retirees who have moved to places like Florida for just that reason.

Speaking of which, so now I’m being told that the sofa needs to match a rug which needs to match the walls which need to match everything else????? WTF????? Jesus tap dancing christ, I sign off on buying a couch and now I’m supposed to be a goddamn interior designer???? This is exhausting. I thought by mastering the couch situation I would be done.

  6. When our son was born almost 10 years ago there were major complications. He ended up spending 6 days in neonatal ICU, and Wendy spent 5 days in the hospital after an emergency c-section.

The total bill was around $70,000.
I believe the insurance company ended up paying around $30,000, with us paying a few hundred.

I wonder how much my Mexican bf’s 4 kids cost to be delivered. And who paid?

it cost her zero dollars and we all paid for it! lol. that’s what im saying, if you have the money to pay for pregnancy and actually pay for it, who’s the sucker? you are. screw that! i dont think i’ve EVER in my life paid a doctor’s co-payment.

“bullshit. please explain to me how poor people keep having babies then? they sure as hell aren’t paying 30,000 dollars to an OBGYN, that’s fer sure.”

[How to turn *rob* into a Republican:]

    How?
