“Most of the other cities I have lived in do not even attempt or pretend to clean the streets.”
I was in several cities in Florida over the past month, including this weekend and I cannot recall seeing a scrap of trash on the floor in any of them.
…and the park benches had wood too!
Believe me, I love NY but there are certainly days, like donatella is describing, where you ask yourself:
“Why am I putting up with this shit?”
ha – I think it’s like #215 or something like that
I feel bad as I haven’t been in touch with him since I got married 3 years ago – he’s my father’s first cousin so he’s about 65
“Denton, is Richmond too far for you? bunch of areas meet your urban vibe”
Nah, we just wanna stay on the East and out of the real heat zone (no Florida). Also away from the coast, don’t wanna have to run inland every time a hurricane blows thru. So probably PA, VA, WV, SC, NC.
Nothing really to see on the north side. I usually kept my activities to Squirrel Hill, Shadyside, Oakland, South Side, downtown, Mt. Washington. East Liberty was a mistake I only made a couple times. Homewood only once. Homewood I literally made a narrow escape with my life.

I’m left wondering how poorer states are able to keep streets clean.
