Dibs – do you know where South Quincy Street is located in Philly?
my cousin who is an artist has lived on that street for 30 + years – that little stretch of rowhouses is soooooo cute!
“That lawyer just told me I was prurient. None of my other tricks even know what that means”
Sounds like he’s above that 100 median I just mentioned. 😉
donatella,
I really think every neighborhood has these types of issues at one time or another.
Right now for instance there is a big issue where I live on the state of neighborhood parks.
I come back home from other states and I’m left wondering how poorer states are able to keep streets clean and maintain beautiful parks and amenities while my state and city can’t even keep wood on a park bench.
“did you hang much in Shadyside and Squirrel Hill?”
Not really hung out much, but visited several times. I have been to most of the southern / central / eastern parts of the city when visiting family.
I don’t know the north side of town at all.
I have family in Upper St Clair & Mt Lebanon!
You’d definitely need a car every day in USC. Could just about do without one in Mt Leb.
(technically they are separate towns, outside the city limit, fairly sure both have higher RE taxes than the city).
Monroeville and Upper St. Claire are also decent options for safety, but a bit pricey. Also, I believe Allegheny County (which encompasses PGH) has higher sales tax, etc. than surrounding counties.

Mt. Lebanon is nice, too! And yes, a car is a necessity in PGH. PAT Bus and the subway to South Hills Village just don’t cut it.

Etson, did you hang much in Shadyside and Squirrel Hill? I wreaked havoc there for a few years 🙂
