I have to go to the dentist in a few minutes. This should be a routine appt. But I went to the eye doc earlier this week thinking it would be “just” a routine appt., and instead found out that I have little baby cataracts. What fresh hell awaits me today?
Can we start the bidding at a new filling, or should we go straight to a root canal? : P
Where I lived in Louisiana and Alabama, the immediate neighborhoods had almost no trash. However, there was close to zero foot traffic and single family houses where people picked up what ended up in front of their house.
Larger streets were a totally different story, with decent amounts of trash, especially considering the lack of density and foot traffic.
Our neighborhood in Houston was more urban, and had similar levels of trash as NYC. My guess is that a lower density was canceled out by no street cleaning.
In our suburban LA area, the single family neighborhood streets got cleaned and had no trash, while major streets like the one our condo complex opened on to were not cleaned and had significant amounts of trash, although slightly less than NY.
Yeah, Dave, it’s a cool place. Next time you have people in town when you’re up there, you should get check it out: http://www.uh.edu/engines/epi1809.htm
Denton, I think I would also like St. Augustine, Florida but you are close to the ocean. Miami and environs I sort of like too, but I don’t know about really sinking money there. I think they have their problems with the running of that city. And definately you are in hurricane country there.
Are you going to Ashville to check it out? Yes, please let me know!

“I was teasing you cobble,
I get your point about outside = ground not floor,
but I could have been talking about airports in those cities.”
You’re right. I should have assumed you were talking about people’s homes and indoors. : P

Jessi, Fonthill is on my short list of cool places to go. Maybe this summer, if finances improve.
