  1. “I’m thinking of joining an episcopal church just to sort of round out the whole profile.”

I am a member of an Episcopal church (and an Anglican one here) and very happy there.
That said, you may find some of churches in the wealthy areas to be dominated by the moonface / East Cupcake nowehere etc brigade.
Some of the articles in the diocesan newspaper are unbelievable. Not really believing in God or Jesus would probably help you with these folks.

  2. What style couch do you want??? The one in my living room, the camelback was from Ethan Allen and the leather one in my TV room was from Door Store. i would highly recommend both places.

  3. That works Jessi. When I was 18, I worked for a stretch in the payroll department of Chase. This was a summer and the equivalent of a semester. This was the era of “social change”. My boss used to take me out to lunch and tell me how “now was the time for the black man to get himself a gun”. He had an Afro that could barely make it through doorways and he (and others) LOVED to freak me out. I guess it was just too much to pass up. He and I are great friends to this day. He has a receding hairline.

  4. OK so here is my problem that needs fixing.

We’ve had the same shitty couch since we lived in Australia. Bought it for like $700 aussie (US$500ish at the time). The Mrs has been trying to get me to buy a new one for the last few years but I keep telling her no, not time yet, gotta wait until we are in a permanent place, etc etc. So now we’re in a permanent place and it’s time to buy a real grown up couch that will last a super long time.

Where do I even start doing this? If I just drive up to the Ethan Allen showroom in Danbury is that a bad first move? Is that kind of place trashy or not? How do I look for a good couch that will last a long time and won’t be shitty and also won’t be a rip off?

Assume I’m willing to spend decent money to get a good long-term couch but I’m not in the market for anything really high end.
