  1. The crisis in Japan, where you mention the global supply chain, is one of the strongest reasons for MORE global production, i.e. Japan buying more compnents from China, Korea, etc, just the sort of thing you are arguing AGAINST.

    Well, it won’t be cheaper if you tax the crap out of it. And maybe the US one will be more expensive than the one from overseas (had you not taxed the overseas one), but if everyone has a job and has money, then it’s still affordable.

    Thanks for responding though – I’m certainly just curious about how this would work and not taking a position on whether it should be done.
