Speaking of self hrlp, I was channel surfing yesterday and ran into Suze Orman….man is she annoying.”

I sorta blame her for the housing bubble. She was RELENTLESS in the 2000’s preaching on every talk/news show how NOW NOW NOW is the time to buy a house – if that is the only thing you do in life -it’s to buy a house

  2. JEssi – exactly – it’s marketing that has us all believing we “neeeeed” all this extra stuff. I am victim to it as well. I can’t say I live within my means…but I do know at least when it comes to big purchases not to live outside my means b/c that is where you can get in to trouble…

  3. Yeah exactly dona. No food. Like, you and your kids could starve to death.

Now all people do is bitch and moan about how big corporations make the food we eat.

NEWS FLASH, FUCKTARDS: YOU’RE NOT STARVING TO DEATH. I GUESS BIG FACTORY FARMS DON’T SOUND SO BAD NOW, HUH?

  4. All of my great-grand parents were very very wealthy. Had servants and large homes, went to all the best schools in NE.

Each successive generation has been less wealthy, with a couple of exceptions. One of my gr. gr. fathers was a multi-millionaire who owned several large companies, a couple of which still exist in some form. At a certain point, he wanted to do a major expansion, he was highly leveraged, and the banks called in his loans, and nearly bankrupted him. He sued them, won, then was challenged and eventually lost. The corporate attorneys among us could look up the case, if they new my name.
