  1. Dona – EXACTLY!!! – I mean I don’t NEED an iphone – but then again if I don’t have a smart phone” how am I perceived when I am out and about and can’t get emails or search for things online when trying to get a job. Truthfully having an iphone has sorta made my life a bit easier…

  2. Lech, I think my great, great, greats were on a serious diet, staggering around the west of Ireland trying to figure out whether to stick it out through the famine and eat grass or find a boat over here. They stuck it out there somehow. Definately, peasant farm workers.

    Gem, I am considering getting an iphone. The thing is that I don’t need it. I already have a cell phone, a landline, an internet connection, cable…..where does it end?

    You also have far too many expensive European leather handbags!!!!

  4. “that is true as well – I think it’s just a complicated mess that is based in everything from an individual’s insecurity to corporations greed to our gov’t needing to spur an economy -it’s a vicious cycle”

    Yeah. That sums up how I see it. Add in the human’s susceptibility to marketing.

  5. “Gem;

    I think that is how many in the middle class actually got themselves self in a mess. One cannot spend oneself into a certain status.”

    that is true as well – I think it’s just a complicated mess that is based in everything from an individual’s insecurity to corporations greed to our gov’t needing to spur an economy -it’s a vicious cycle
