So… – what can we expect from Libya if Gaddafi does indeed leave?
I see Egypt already had a very successful election for changes to their constituition – but I wonder who will be equipped to lead Libya – I guess I am suspecting someone the US and it’s allies put in….
DH, how about dudes who have tiny savings and income looking to buy some super expensive item like a boat, around the globe vacation,…? I often wonder if those are trolls vs. real folks really asking for that stuff
Here’s a perfect example of the US Gov’t stepping in and fucking up a market: Ethanol Subsidies.
I actually was very involved with the ethanol market when working with sugar producers. I went to the RFA (Renewable Fuels Association, the US lobbist organization for ethanol) annual meetings which were like revival meetings.
They said ethanol was the best thing in the world because it:
1) Was great for the environment (US ethanol NOT)
2) Reduced dependance on foreign oil (What?)
3) Was good for US farmers (BINGO!!!!)
“DH, how’s your batting avg guessing Suze’s answers on the “can I afford xxx” segment? I was batting close to 100% which is easy – ie any doubt, it’s NO”
pretty good – but if anything it shows me I don’t save nearly enough.
Benson – trust me, I understand – I think most of us came from that sorta stock – hard working, intelligent people who raised successful kids -however now are different times – it’s not just the individual not having that sort of discipline that our grandparents had – our society has grown more pervasive in the way information flows and that includes the marketing of goods to people.
There are plenty of poor people in our country that still find the $$ to buy their kid a TV or a cheap cell phone or a cheap music player…
CH – but wouldn’t it be true to say that your ancestors again were in the same minority(the very rich) that exists today? Do you know what the reasons were behind the generations that followed that lead them to become less wealthy??

DIBS, hotpot is best done from home – ie load up on the premium items at the butcher shops and just fire up the water man
