  1. JB;

    You have found my achille’s heel, haven’t you ;-)?

    Yes, my dad did belong to a union. He belonged to a rather corrupt union that was part of the Tammany Hall organization. If you have seen the movie “On the Waterfront”, that pretty much depicts the type of union he belonged to and their “benefit” to the worker.

    I’ve told this story before: my father railed against the union because they administered an ethnic spoils system that did not work to his favor. When I was about 12, he was hit by a truck on the job and was thrown 25 feet in the air, breaking his shoulder and fracturing his skull. He was hospitalized for about 1/2 year. After he recovered, he applied for a settlement from the city. One of the union thugs visited my house and told him that unless they got a substantial cut, the settlement would not be approved. The system was so entrenched that the thug followed by father to the bank to take the union’s cut.

  2. Why is Palin in India?
    I loved what Kathy Griffin said about her in her stand-up show. “She’s not a gov’t figure anymore, she has a reality TV show just like me” – exactly Ms. Palin – know your lane and stay in it!

    “Yes, but you can’t get wealthy at it, unless you hit paydirt and some sugar daddy really falls in love (or lust) with you. There have been cases of that.”

    are they paying taxes though?

    You don’t pay taxes on assets, just income.

  5. Does anyone know the name of the organization that mails you grocery bags that you are supposed to fill up with food for their pick up to give to those in need? I can’t seem to find them by google.
