This year my division will do pretty bad. I am gearing up for layoffs (probably at the end of the year). In my industry, it’s pretty common. Very unstable overall but a great place to work.
Having said that, they seem to like me and think I am semi-smart (boy do I have them fooled). My VP asked me the other day if I want to further my career and whether I would be open to re-location. I told him sure but I REALLY DON’T WANT TO WORK/LIVE IN BUFFALO OR LA :o(.
I was invited to dinner this past weekend to a friend’s house on one of the premier PS blocks: 4th Street between the park and 8th Ave. He has a gorgeous one-family limestone dripping with details. I was somewhat impressed.
“Denton, I wouldn’t go to the forum for that stuff. My house is super simple. I didn’t overpay for a 150 year old building just so I can tell people at cocktail parties that I have original detail. When stuff breaks at my house I’ll spend a few bucks at Home Despot and fix it myself.”
don’t be so cocky-houses no matter how old they are show their true colors once you have been living in it for about…6 months or so which for you would be October -so better have that boiler looked at soon!
in the real estate section of times this week, they featured a house in irvington ny on that page with all different kinds of housing and the taxes listed were over 40 k a year!!! that is insane. the house itself was i think just a little over a million
Hi Snappy. I have all my original details – no plastic surgery. But, if they start to sag, I might consider some restorations.
benson, did you see the visdeo about the spaghetti fight on the subway? i don;t think it came with meatballs.

I was still pleased to go back home to my condo.
benson, of course it’s global expansion. god forbid we take some freaking accountability for our bad decisions
