  1. Anyone know bout those memory tests? We’re applying for long term care policies and they ask you a million questions, but I just had a surprise phone test, I guess to test your cognitive abilities. They give you a list of ten words, and two opportunities to say them and use them in a sentence. THen later you have to remember them. Of course I decided to cheat and ‘remembered’ nine outta ten. But after I hung up I was able to do 8 out of ten. What are you supposed to be able to do (keep my advanced age in mind).

  2. -I don’t – I pay others to do this for me as they are way better than I could be – therefore I am supporting our economy……

I am still supporting the economic. Mortgage, water, gas, lights, the plumber when the boiler died on the coldest day. This list goes on.

  3. “IMO every consumer worried about the middle/working class should at least pay attention to the country of origin of whatever they buy, not only to help with our own factories but to make sure they are not getting ripped off.

For example I have no problem going into Macys to buy socks and seeing they are made in China when they only cost a buck a pair. I have a major problem, when, as happened a couple of years ago, I go into Brooks Bros and find something for Mrs D for Christmas, noticing that it costs $600, and then seeing that it is made in China. Ripoff. If I buy a luxury good it better damn well be made here, Canada, Western Europe, or Japan or the price should reflect o/w.”

^^ this makes a lot of sense to me
