  1. lamb, see my 3:18. But I’m not looking to use it in an urban environment, generally. I haven’t got a speeding ticket here in years, and only 1 red light cam, on Nostrand and Atlantic, about three years ago.

  2. “Being unemployed, especially for a long time is scary as hell and at times I have been depressed.”

It was pretty debilitating for me at times. Doing volunteer work really helped. Taking little freelance jobs (for very little money) also helped, just to have something to DO! (besides hanging out with asshats here!!! : P)

  3. snappy, there are different radar bands the cops use. Two of them are also used by mundane things like motion detectors in warehouses. So annoyingly enuf they can set off the detector.

What this detector does, using GPS, is note to itself every time it gets an alarm. If it gets one at the same place for three times, it ‘remembers’ it as a warehouse-type location so you no longer get false alarms.

Kens, it ain’t as easy as it used to be, they have ‘instant-on’ radar that works like that, and laser is even worse.

The trick is to pick up some activity from the trooper sampling previous cars.

It’s not a license to really speed or drive like a moron, I’m just trying to avoid getting caught in some of those small town speed traps you hear about, where there’s a tint sign dropping the speed from 55mph to 25mph, and there’s the cop sitting.
