  1. Hi folks,

This Japanese disaster is a really sobering event.
It shows how quickly one natural event can turn a large portion of a leading industrialized nation into a stone age vista.
It seems ironic that an archaeologist recently announced that he believes he has discovered the city of Atlantis described by Plato as having disappeared in a day.
It’s in a marsh land area of Southern Spain.

  2. Benson, it is hard to imagine how they keep up with the job. Recently I discovered the landmarked blocks in the 30s between Lex and Park. Brownstones and buildings of every imaginable style. I just look at my block alone and I think, “this is landmarked”? None of the sidewalk matches and each house has a multiple of wacky non-historical features.

  3. Pete, do you go hiking up there in New Paltz? I am sure I told you this, but I love Mohonk (but won’t go there anymore now that it is off the charts expensive). But I want to go up there once the weather changes – maybe stay at some cheapy Motel 8 or something, and go hiking up there.
