“He told me that he went shopping when the black faded and that he owned 10 of the same shirts and a bunch of black jeans, same exact style. Of course it could have been the same clothes everyday how would I know?”
lmao – i do the same exact thing. except i replace jeans when a hole develops in the crotch.
I used to work with a programmer who wore the same thing every day:
Black pointy cowboy boots
black jeans
black belt
black cotton turtle knit shirt
goatee
hairpulled back and braided.
He told me that he went shopping when the black faded and that he owned 10 of the same shirts and a bunch of black jeans, same exact style. Of course it could have been the same clothes everyday how would I know?
He notes that the LPC now has jurisdiction over 20,000 buildings in NYC. We have now given an unelected bureauacracy wide discretion over the aesthetics of 20,000 buildings, at a time when the municipal government can’t properly fulfill its core obligations.
This situation is neither practical nor sustainable.
Yeah, but it was HIM too. He was too cool for school and actually wore his black getup with a lot of style.

programmers are notoriously underpaid and could not afford the designer outfits other people own. I know this from personal experience.

I posted this on the LPC thread today, but it is worth repeating here.
Here is an excellent article from the Harvard economist Edward Glaeser on urban planning:

DH, not everyone can pass off as potentially “an artist” – that’s what allows you to wear the same thing everywhere.
