Also, using the theory that the New Testament gets rid of the laws of the Old Testament, a couple of the the strongest biblical arguments against homosexuality also go away.

I think the image of Christ and the Church and a husband & wife is a positive one.
Jesus’ ministry was financed and supported by women, wealthy widows mostly.
