  1. I’m sorry, Cobble. I didn’t see your comments until tonight.

I’m really sorry for the offense. I really didn’t mean it. I didn’t write with a spirit of I know better than you. That’s not how I feel. I’m sorry it came across that way and caused so much upset.

Also, I’m trying to go back and find the Open Thread again but it has disappeared. I was reading it just a little while ago and now I can’t find it. I guess you must have said something about HR and so my remark about HR sounded like I was attacking you. I’m really sorry. To be honest, when I wrote that about HR, I was trying to sound funny, but I guess I wasn’t. I guess it was just offensive. But I didn’t mean it to be, really. I guess I am insensitive and was thoughtless and I didn’t realize going on and on about the topic would sound like it did. I’m really sorry.

Also, just FWIW — and now I’m responding to THL — I wasn’t recommending pounding the pavement. I was recommending calling or emailing friends and hiring managers directly. (And I’m not implying Cobble or anyone else is or isn’t doing that!) When I was out of work for four years I sent things in electronically and except for one exception it didn’t work and it was very discouraging. It was so depressing. Because you never talk to a human being. It’s all a big charade, I think. Anyway, that was my experience that’s all.

I’m sorry my posts were so offensive. I’m really sorry.

Also, I don’t mean to make things even worse, but also my comments were irrelevant because almost no one is hiring. I’m sorry.

  2. “Biff, when I read your posts it’s like she’s typing them from a male perspective and yeah, she’s like crazy smoking hot. Seriously, I look like a fat hobbit standing next to her.”

Thank goodness I’m taken. I just hate meeting crazy smoking hot women with my exact same send of humour.

    Phew!
