Thanks bxgrl. I’ve never had a real pet (with all due respect to my goldfish) but can empathize with those going through the emotions of having to put one down. I’m sure your cats were/are very well taken care of, as was CDog.

I think a condom wrapper is a good place for “Keep Calm Carry On”.
biff- I think anyone who has had to put down a pet, especially one they have had for years, feels what he is going through. I know I get called a crazy cat lady but when you’ve had an animal for years and years, while they are not “people in fur” they are companion entities and they mean a great deal. My sister and MM both had to come with me when I had to put down my 2 18 year old cats- it’s a good time to have a good friend like you there.

I’m actually going with him tonight to be there for him when he puts down CDog. I’m sure there will be a few bar shots afterwards to numb his pain.
According to CGar, “we’ll be sitting Shiva at Montero’s on the 11th. In lieu of flowers at the Memorial Service, donations to North Shore Animal League.†He’s trying his best to keep up his spirits, but obviously he’s extremely distraught.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to PLUSAs for their thoughts here and private emails sent to him today. He was very touched by everyone’s kindness.
