Would you walk an extra 5 blocks to save 2 bucks on a pint of ice cream?
I totally would. Actually when we came to this country, my 81 year old grandfather would walk to Boro Park (good 40 minute walk) to buy fruits and veggies to save 3 to 4 cents a pound than what it was in other stores. We clipped coupons too and bought sales items depending on what stores offered them. We had no store royalty once so ever, be it ShopRite, Pathmark, Stop and Shop, CTown or Key Food. Anything goes as long as they offered cheap prices. I was sent to one store to buy sour cream and ice cream cause it was cheaper, grandpa did fruits and veggies, dad went and go day old bread at kosher bakeries cause it was half off (and still absolutely fine bread).
Exactly. What’s the point of knowing that you don’t really have any idea what the truth is if that just makes you miserable? If your goal is to be happy, then just be blissfully ignorant and enjoy the “original” mona lisa.
bxgrl, you’re fighting the hypo. You’re saying you can tell the difference. Assume that you can’t. Assume the copy is perfect. And there are, I’m quite sure, plenty of situations when this could be true. Then the only thing that matters is that you believe it is an original.
dibs- what he wants is the end to collective bargaining. He got the concessions he asked for that were supposed to prevent the layoffs- collective bargaining is just to screw the unions.

“I’m not asking about up close vs far away bxgrl – I’m saying you get the exact same experience from a copy as you do from an original as long as you BELIEVE it is the original.”
ignorance is blizz. if your spouse is cheating and you don’t know – it’s the same difference as if they weren’t, right?
art isn’t about the ability to execute – it’s about creativity to do so first.
displaying copies of fine art in museums is dishonest, because copies CAN be as good as the originals.
i’m sure there’s 50 yr old chinese guys who play in a mean beatles cover band – doesn’t mean they are better artists than the beatles.

You gotta do what you gotta do.

Absolutely, DH!
If it weren’t for Nat King Cole there’d be no Mona Lisa.
