Jessi, it was too much trouble. Plus everyone buys their stuff cheaper on the Internet–people come into the store to see the stuff and touch it, and then they go online and get it cheaper. So it’s not worth it to get new mommies into the store.
Jessi – thanks – am thinking I can find a group pretty easy. There is also some new site “Brooklyn Baby Bites” and they do lots of meet ups and various stores in park slope – so am hoping once I have this baby and am back to “normal” I can meet some other women
I think am worried as I won’t be staying at home and will most likely try to return to the workforce 2-3 months after the baby is born -so am worried most women in park slope stay home with their kids early on….
I think it’s worth it to have an easy way to connect with people. Being a new parent is extremely isolating. The OT only goes so far–the OT wouldn’t put up with a zillion posts about new parenting.
Benson, I had a question for you. You seem pretty traditional. When you’re wearing your borsalino, do you tip your hat when passing a woman on the street? If so, do you do it only for women who appear older than you?
I thought of this last weekend. I was going to tip my hat every time an elderly lady passed, but I was afraid I would sprain my arm doing this in Brooklyn Heights.
I like the tradition and am thinking of doing it from now on.

I always tip the masseur, especially if I get a hat on

Delepp, next up is thermal dynamics.
Think I’ll head for my root canal now.
I think DH wants to meet up with Park Slope moms.
