You said I sounded “:like a televangelist pushing a self-help program to sell to those “struggling to be poor.”
In other words taking advantage of poor people.
And you said “so pedal that tripe elsewhere.”
These are definitely personal re3marks on your part.
At least I gave a reason for what I said in response to your inflammatory response, that the bad choices you are promoting on this blog will keep people impoverished.
If you don’t agree, that is fine. Please explain how if one blames their circumstances on others (ie the economy, agribusiness, capitalism etc.) will help people emerge from poverty.
I don’t see what the big deal is. Just get yourself invited to a lot of dinners and client events and have a lot of business meetings and you can pretty much eat scot free for an entire month. I don’t want to hear people bitching about how expensive food is when they aren’t even smart enough to figure this out.
MM, I do agree with most of what you said, and I am not against food stamps.
Poor people get stuck in poverty for a variety of reasons. No moral judgments on my part. But if people make choices over and over again that do not improve their economic condition, they need to understand that those choices are their own.
I certainly agree that we should celebrate those who overcome obstacles.
“I live by that, and am eternally grateful for my opportunities and chances in life.”
Me too MM, me too.
People, you can all stop arguing about this, I already gave you the answer at 12:53.
I guess I can add hunger and poverty to the list of problems I’ve fixed (also global warming, racism and tax policy).
LOL, rf. I wouldn’t presume.
People pull themselves out of poverty everyday. It ius obviously doable.
Reality check time:
You said my ideas were “Bullshit.”

oh snap
*rob*
So, do tell us, DCB, what is the secret to escaping poverty? (besides marrying some schmuck and milking him dry)

You most certainly did, dcb. I took issue with what you said, not with who you are. There is a difference.
“You threw the first punch.”
If you go back and read bxgrls post, you will see that I did not throw the first punch.
