dcb- Nowhere do I advocate impoverishing people nor is what I said a map to do so. But having lived through some hellish stuff ( and yes there are people who have suffered more than I- did I say there weren’t? But thanks for the gratuitious snark. You do that so well), I do know what I am talking about.
I will say again circumstances can screw you up- and that was ALL I said. Anything you may be reading or fantasizing I was saying is your problem. And if you think you can control everything that happens to you in life, well, that’s delusional. I’m talking reality- there are things beyond your control. But I never said you give up. or stop trying to better your circumstances- something you totally overlooked. So we’re done here. Let’s go back to ignoring one another, shall we? I find that much more pleasant.
Of course, not everyone can play the flute like James Gallway. Taking flute lessons from a really good teacher will not guarantee that just anyone can be a successful concert musician. People have different talents.
Similarly success in school does not guarantee success in business, although it can certainly help.
My point is that believing your personal circumstances are beyond your control, pretty much guarantees poor results.
In my experience, a large part of success or failure has to do with business relationships. That is certainly something I, or anyone has personal responsibility for.
I am done ranting for the day.
I will now return to my other job as a televangelist.

I couldn’t imagine myself being straight. I’d never get much sex and I’d have children to feed canned vegetables to. Talk about hell on earth.
I have a question for Benson. If anyone sees him, please tell him he’s been summoned to the PLUSA Presidential Palace.
I would rather starve than eat tripe.
On the other hand, I would rather be celibate than gay.
People are different.

The OT clock is so out of phase w/ GMT you can’t tell how long a thread killer lasts any more.
I had tripe stew on Friday. It was delicious.
Can one make a living selling tripe?
