“probably lived through a lot of tough reverse racism, if I can even use that term, so it boils your blood when italians are referred to as racist, and you have a tendency to see that kind of a statement where it hasn’t actually been made.”
Benson, I don’t agree with your take on denton’s motives.
I think you feel strongly about this issue because you’re italian and grew up in the area [in Gravesend in fact? or am I misremembering?] and probably lived through a lot of tough reverse racism, if I can even use that term, so it boils your blood when italians are referred to as racist, and you have a tendency to see that kind of a statement where it hasn’t actually been made.
If folks insist on keeping this issue going, I’ll ask again:
Why did Denton tell that particular story at that particular time?
Arkady and Cobble: don’t hide behind other people’s skirts.
“”Why must you always retaliate with some story abut Black people?”
Political correctness.”
No- I don’t think that’s it.
benson- I don’t know his motives. Truly I don’t. Maybe he was just relating a story he remembered when you brought up unions- and that’s all it was.
Good try, lech, even though in vain. Complacency is a bulwark against reason. (And it’s pretty bad when I’m calling you the voice of sweet reason!)

Oh crap! I hate it when I agree with lech.
Lech;
Sorry, I disagree.
As I just mentioned to Bxgrl, his remark was completely gratuitous. That is the clue to me.
Basta on this issue. I’ve said my piece. Good night all.
And yes, all races and nationalities have racists among them.
DIBS did you read the article I linked about the yoghurt?
“Best way to combat such smugness is to throw facts in people’s faces.”
Yes, but the problem is that you ignore the facts shown to you! : P
