Those aren’t documentaries, they are biopics, and they’ve been out for a while now. At the risk of winning GOTD, I saw Coco Avant Chanel last year. Is it a safe harbor from GOTD award if I saw the movie because I saw it with Mrs. Slopey and it was her choice? I haven’t seen the Coco/Igor flick.
“biff, I always take the pov that things are complicated, and so are people. I always hope that I would be a better person, but I never know.”
People and situations are difficult/complicated. But in Coco’s case, it seems like a sustained ‘effort’/involvement, and therefore can’t be discounted/ignored.
“I’m talking about BIG snow, not rinky-dink couple of inches.”
“Forecast is for an inch or so of snow, then rain.”
cobble and dibs have different ideas of ‘BIG’. I think dibs has more experience in this area, (altho it could be pretty close) so I’ll go with go with dibs’.
Givenchy was so elegant- Audrey Hepburn was magnficent. One thing I have to say- working in the costume collections, I got to see first hand nearly all of the great designers. With some of them, the construction of the clothing was architectural and the level of craftsmanship was unparalleled. With others, Issac Mizrahi, for one- horrible. Think Monkey Wards but with a better price tag. We regularly got collections of designer clothes from wealthy folk cleaning out their closets. But the most glaring instance of crap designer sewing I ever saw was the Yves St. Laurent exhibit at the Met. There was a fabulous beaded jacket and one side of it was a half inch longer than the other. YOu’ve never see such sloppiness in a Worth or Pingat.
I like looking at the snow, when it first falls. It’s beautiful.
Then when the schlepping, the filthy snow and the ice kick in, I wish it would just go away!
“Film noir at its sadist.”
Sadist? Are they showing Marquis de Sade movies? : P

If you want to escape the snow/rain go see “the big heat” at the film forum. Film noir at its sadist.
let it snow
