Sunday – a woman on a Queens street mistakes David suchet (the actor who played Poirot on PBS’s Mystery!) for a famous director; he is living in a homeless shelter and pretends along.
Oh, and the kid in me loves all the Shrek movies and Horton Hears a Who! Anyone remember Bedknobs & Broomsticks with Angela Lansbury? That’s my favorite childhood movie.
Impressive, What! It’s among the greatest naturalist novels ever by an American author. Required reading, but not for the faint of heart or the easily distracted.
Whoops, should read Schindler’s List, can’t spell today.
Other faves, also not highbrow, but I love them:
The Matrix (first one)
Stand By Me
Scarlet Pimpernel w/ Anthony Andrews and Jane Seymour
Finding Neverland
The Secret of Roan Inish
Ladyhawk (stupid score, and Matthew Broderick is annoying, but I love the story)
Ditto on Shawshank, Edward Scissorhands, Drumline, Whale Rider – all wonderful.

The Day of the Jackal
The Great Escape
How Green Was My Valley
The Bicycle Thief
Sidewalk Astronomer
Dersu Uzala
Cinema Paradiso
Oh yes- the Color Pruple. Some movies that are my faves I have only seen once because they are so painful and moving to watch.
Little Women (always loved the book too).
the Elephant Man.
Hook (and loved the sets in that)

Heathers! and Monsoon Wedding – some of my faves too!
gotta love Heathers. Another fav is “The Tin Drum”. Disturbing, but great story.
I’m not sure I ever paid any serious attention to a home in a movie…gotta think about this one for a minute.
