When I was driving in the FIRST snowstorm, 20 miles an hour in my Toyota Camry over the Verazzano…I could see the SUVs trying to drive fast. Some of these guys really are deluded.
“I call bullshit if an Outback….”
I’m not sure I know what packed snow feels like (re-write possible if you use Urbandictionary definition for snow). But, we were upstate. It snowed over night about 10″. We wanted to get breakfast at a local diner. We got in the car and drove over the snow that hadn’t been shoveled in the driveway. Easy.
Happened in LI also. It snowed, we wanted to come back to bklyn. Got in the car and drove over the snow in the street that hadn’t been plowed yet.
“SUV needs to have a AWD AND a certain amount of clearance inorder to drive over that amount of snow, which BMW and Lexus doesn’t have to my knowledge.”
Then what’s the point of SUVs? And we leased an SUV a few years back. Hated that car.
Cobble, Dean & Britta played live here relatively recently but I didn’t see them. I saw Luna live a few times (not nearly as many as you, I’m sure), including one time on New Year’s Eve. They have fabulous music. Did you know their guitarist after Lunapark was released was a Canadian (Sean Eden)? He’s pretty funny in the documentary I mentioned above.
Are you around, infinite jester? I have a question for you.
Please continue with the car talk. I have a bit of work to do and don’t want to feel like I’m missing anything interesting.
RF…did you go to Fairway yet? Are Red Hook roads plowed?
SUVs are like 4G. Most consumers don’t know what the heck they are.

dibs, that’s totally true about the lower gear. I wonder if that’s why some true SUVs still come in manual transmissions.
