  1. “I thought you’re always supposed to exchange insurance info so you’d have name, address, etc.”

Depends upon the state. In NJ, it is exactly as Dona described it. The parties do not talk to each other – only to the police.

Also speaking from experience on this one.

  2. That’s true, benson, but insurance companies have been cracking down that type of stuff. My friend is an auditor at a large insurance company and she’s said they’re starting to deny more claims.

  3. yeah, I can’t imagine how given the level of physical damage to the cars and the actual event relayed by the police (slow backing up to stop blocking the box) could in any way be associated with physical injury. Oh well.

  4. oh well, I’m not worrying about it today. I have never had an accident in my adult life and I don’t even consider this an accident. How can a scrape on a bumper be associated with serious physical harm?

  5. The news coverage when it snows here is total over kill.

donatella, that man had better be careful. He could drive his own insurance rates up or risk cancellation by making a fraudulent claim.

  6. Yeah, I don’t have a scrap of personal information about the guy. It is all in the police report. He is not suing me personally, he is making a claim to my insurance company, GEICO, which I guess will find out he is full of shit.
