  1. “I thought if you wanted to claim bodily harm you had to sue the person, not just the insurance company?”

Depends upon how much they are claiming. If the claim is within your insurance company’s liability limit, they will handle it – and Dontella will have no say in it (per the contract with her insurance company). If the person is suing over the insurance limit, then you get your own lawyer involved.

“I have never had an accident in my adult life”

If you do, I have an extra coupon for Depends.

    Thanks, Biff. I think…

  3. donatella, if you dont already have it, get an umbrella insurance policy (ie for $2M). since I drive to work all the time, I get it in case I run into scammers like this. It would also cover if some scammer slips on your sidewalk.

  4. “My friend is an auditor at a large insurance company and she’s said they’re starting to deny more claims.”

I also know an attorney at an insurance company รขโ‚ฌโ€ works in the fraud dept. They’re watching closely.

  5. donatella- only to someone trying to make a quick buck. I thought if you wanted to claim bodily harm you had to sue the person, not just the insurance company?
