benson, sorry to hear. My aunt has alzheimer’s. I put her into assissted living about 16 months ago and tomorrow I’m transferring her to an alzheimer care area. NYTimes has some informative articles and links to all things associated with dementia. Currently Alzheimer can only be diagnosed after autopsy but there are some simple cognitive tests to determine which dementia stage she’s in currently. New tests/ideas weekly it seems.
I didn’t try the singing because I came to realize that that last Friday was not the ordinary Mother-daughter World War III type of fight. Rather, I think my MIL’s mind has taken a sudden turn for the worse, as part of the progression of her Alzheimer’s disease.
