I went to a cabaret show in Crown Heights Saturday night (“Voluption”) and the opening act was a nine-ish year old girl on stilts shooting balloons off the stage with a compound bow and arrow.
Legion, no, I just love the Banana Splits theme song since I grew up with it, and I have fond memories. (I’m sure I’d find the Banana Splits unwatchable today.)
“I bet there are teenagers who can’t do this!!!!!”
ha ha dibs,
the clock test can also be used as part of an IQ test in children.
benson,
bring the drawing to the doctor with you.
it is very telling as a snapshot of the individual’s mental state.
Accuracy of depiction
Orientation to space and time
Number sequencing
and manual dexterity.
CGar,
did you see this movie?
it’s not for everyone that’s for sure,
I mean a small girl shooting and going nuts on everyone,
but the juxtaposition of the Banana Splits theme song and an all out bloody blast fest was brilliant.
Benson, my maternal grandmother had Alzheimers and I saw the deterioration first hand. Let me add to those offering condolensces. I’m sure you’ll be a source of strength for Mrs. B.
I say talking to family friend or nurse as a way to have a conversation about care that will steer her to the doctor. We are so lucky to have a friend in Florida who is a physician’s assistant. She had her own practice for 20 years and is an expert in gerentology. She has been SO HELPFUL in approaching the care of my parents, both experiencing some acute issues. She had some very practical advice about physician referrals for both of them for care from people who are gerentologists and who understand the unique medical and emotional issues of old people.
She has a niece that she trusts alot. I asked her to come to our place to do an intervention (convincing her that she needs to go to the doctor).
Legion;
One of the tip offs (for us) that she has Alzheimers is that she lost all notion of time. She often asks us what time of the day it is (i.e. she will ask us if it is night or the morning).

I just saw your post, Benson. That’s perfect.

Thanks for the kind wishes, all.
