  1. ugh ive had packages taken back to the post office only for them to lose them. you really need to call them and talk to someone, most people who work in the post office will go look around for you.. you might have to do this a few times tho.

  2. Hi, first time posting on the open thread.

just wondering if anyone on has had experience with Time Plaza post office. I am having trouble having a package redelivered by them – despite going online and requesting 2x for redelivery. I refuse to go in there because everyone who works is TOTALLY incompetent. Their phone number is constantly busy. I hate Times Plaza post office with a passion. The USPS representative I spoke with was probably taken aback when I stated how incompetent those employees are.

  3. i dont mean to belittle the tragedy of course… just making a point that not everyone likes to focus on that shit or gives a shit to begin with. some people fer sure would rather celebrities make fools of themselves dancing then have to listen to some depressing speech.

for a lot of people, yes.. they are. and there is nothing wrong with that. dont judge!

  5. Bxgrl and I watched much of the memorial service for the Tucson shooting last night. We actually watched it on Fox News, as the networks weren’t carrying it, because shows like Live to Dance are more important than a memorial service. Anyway, the service was very moving. The highlight, of course, was President Obama’s speech, which was one of the best and most moving speeches of his life. By the end, I was in tears.

He struck the right tone in every way, and by highlighting the lives of those who died, as well as the wounded, Ms Giffords, the heroes who saved lives by tending to the wounded, and wrestling the gunman to the ground, and the families of the dead, he found the heart of a nation. You’d have to be a stone not to be moved by those people and their families. He then went on to talk about what we can do, and I think he touched the best in us there, as well.

The evening turned out to be a celebration, not a funeral, and was quite amazing. I was reading about it later on line, and came across some of the most hateful comments you can imagine, about the evening, and about Obama. You really have to wonder what it is that makes people so gleeful and malicious, spewing vile and vitriol across the internet. Obviously they got nothing from the speech, or the tributes to decent people. No wonder President Obama’s hair is getting grayer by the day.

  6. yeah that’s what i was thinking… you are running from new brooklyn types because you dont like them, but you havent even moved there and youre making fun of the locals? um what? isnt that exactly the kinds of people you DONT like in brooklyn?
