  1. Slopey, I typically eat 4 containers (about a pint each) of cut fruit, a small (8 oz.) container of cottage cheese and maybe a Naked Juice throughout the day for breakfast and lunch. Then, I usually stop and get grilled salmon or grilled chicken with a couple side salads of veggies (chick peas, black beans, lentils) for dinner.

But, I cheat in moderation – a couple of pretzel sticks, a few yogurt covered peanuts, a handful of caramel corn, the occasional piece of chocolate – because I have a real sweet tooth and otherwise I’d feel deprived and probably start binging.

Also, on occasion, I have pizza, grilled cheese, Chinese, Mexican (sounds like dave’s diet!), but the key is moderation.

And, since my appetite has shrunk tremendously, portion control is easy – I tend to eat half the amount I used to.

Finally, I try to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge at least once / day.

  2. Re planes, I lived in an apartment with a south-facing roof deck from about 1995-2007.

The planes were always low and coming at you. We enjoyed sitting out on an evening and watching them. What’s to hate about planes?

  3. I missed the Vietnam draft by a year. No way would I have gone, I would either have gone underground or to Canada.

I don’t actually have a problem with an Israeli-style draft where everyone goes irrespective of educational status or money.
