“none of this happened in a vacuum. There are a lot of factors that led up to the shooting”
But ultimately the shooter was responsible for his own actions, and the effect of external ‘factors’ on him is at best unclear and it seems inconsequential.
When I moved to NYC, they used to show martial arts movies every Saturday afternoon on one of the independent stations, either 5,9, or 11. The plots were all the same, and the dubbing of the dialogue was hilarious, but the scenery, costumes, and the fight scenes were spectacular. It had nothing to do with the violence, because it was so stylized and bloodless, it was like watching dance. Especially when people starting flying around. Great stuff!
I loved Bruce Lee movies. The one where Chuck Norris is the villian and gets his butt fatally kicked by Bruce, in the Colliseum in Rome, is Way of the Dragon.
Legion — there are always folks out on the fringes saying and perhaps doing quite inflammatory stuff. I am specifically addressing what people in major party leadership roles say and do. My point was that i don’t recall dem leaders’ statements during the Bush era being as heated and prone to evoke associations to violence.
Likewise, I found some of the private “militias” in the 90s quite creepy, and I remember congressional republicans being fairly aggressively partisan, but I don’t recall feeling that there was a linkage between the fringe and the rhetoric of GOP leaders. I’ve been more unnerved this time around.

that’s the prob here. we dont give enough stage time to other Repub choices. Other than Fat Boy getting tons of stage time, who else other than her?
“question.
