“rhetorically cheap” Perfect description of Palin. I think she is going to find that it doesn’t take her to the White House. When Karl Rove said she wasn’t presidential, he spoke the truth (omg- to think I actually agree with Rove an anything?)
My daughter told me recently (before this) that she’s had some discussions with classmates about the police and the experience of the black, Latino and South Asian kids is very, very different from the experience of the white and East Asian kids. And these are all basically middle-class kids.
Donatella, I called 311 first and they gave me the number of the precinct to call. The person who said she left the scene of the crime was an actual police officer, not a civilian employee. I was shocked, but I looked up the precinct and called the community officer who was more helpful.
Dave, I want to report it because it is a dangerous corner for pedestrians and hopefully if enough people get run over, they may fix it. Secondarily, because my daughter wants to report it. I did put the word out on various neighborhood email lists just in case there are witnesses, but I know that’s a needle in the haystack. My daughter was upset that she didn’t think to call 911 or to take a photo of the car with her cell phone, but the next time she gets hit by a car she’ll remember–gee that’s comforting. NOT! Of course she is the victim and I hope the cops are nice about it. I suspect that an old white mom and a Chinese kid will get more sympathy than the average resident of the 79.

And top ‘o the mornin’ to you, too, randi. I see the snow hasn’t altered your mood.
Schools open, most folks at work (preggers excluded), roads cleared. What exactly are you on about?

“Blood libel” — wow, that’s rhetorically cheap. Blood libel was a serious thing, used to kill or otherwise persecute jews in many parts of Europe for centuries. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_libel How much power do some republicans need to stop overplaying the victim card? Tea Party Express is actually trying to raise money off the shooting by labelling Loughner a liberal (because Commie Manifesto among his reading — we’ll ignore the Ayn Rand on his shelf) and claiming persecution by the MSM. You’d think these folks lost seats in congress in 2010.
dona – It’s not the kid’s church it’s the same whack-os from Kansas that were here not long ago.

I certainly don’t doubt that.
“oh, so its just like, official adminsitrative OT business or whatever. OK.”
Yes, blowfish, in our imaginary business world of the OT, LOL. Unless you consider our gatherings business.

It’s the prerogative of the upper classes, rob. But hopefully they won’t send you to the post office today.
