“an attempt to exploit an apolitical tragedy to score political points, particularly wrt Palin.”
Totally agree with this. CNN had some guy on blaming “the right” on Sat pm, before it was known whether Giffords was alive or dead, and before any details regarding the shooter were released.
Have you seen the CBS poll that was published yesterday? By a 2 to 1 margin, Americans have seen Krugman et. al for what it is: an attempt to exploit an apolitical tragedy to score political points, particularly wrt Palin.
Brilliant strategy. Too bad it backfired.
How about trying this wrt Palin and the Tea Party: just simply state why you don’t agree with their policy proposals. Try that for a change, instead of accusing the Tea party of being a bunch of yahoo racists, instead of obsessing over Palin, etc. In other words, try a contest of ideas.
Completely unacceptable term to throw around in relation to the shooting of a jewish member of congress. Unacceptable period but particularly so in this case. And I don’t feel unnerved so much as pissed off. And if this fires up her base it also alienates her from the center, who have never heard of such a term and are now googling it and gaping at her insensitivity and demagoguery.

I think we have a classic case of not thinking before you speak. Not uncommon, but still quite sad.
benson, serious question, not intended as snark: What do you like about Palin?
Benson–if that polling was correct all she had to do was take the high road and she would have been golden. Why go all blood libel on people then?
Wasder, Slopey and all;

Thankfully Barack has the opportunity this evening to show the nation what the language of a statesman sounds like, in sharp contrast to Ms Facebook.
Like I said, it’s not that the cops are black, white, or Asian, it’s that cops think pedestrians are the lowest form of life. Almost all of them.
When did you ever see a cop giving a driver a ticket for violating a ped’s right of way in a crosswalk?
Oh boy, we have pot stirring going on in here! Shall I pull out my body armor? 🙂
