Tonight I’ll be waiting for a meeting in Asia to wrap up before getting some work so I might do dry run up and back in the late afternoon / early evening as well.
Future work situation for the Mrs is very unclear. I don’t think she will work in the city. She’s struggling with what she wants to do and what she’s able to do. Most likely outcome if we’re up there is she either works from home or finds employment up there (white plains, armonk, etc).
Jackal, good for you. Dobbs Ferry sounds like it will work. From what I know about it, it is a nice old town – used to work with someone from there. Nice houses too.
the proximity to the train station is great.
People here say that I am always smiling and typing. The fact that I drink at work is irrevelant.
New Jersey is covered by the Star-Ledger, a major newspaper based in Newark.
“We also have to deal with a media that’s so self centered they rarely cover anything outside of NYC. Snow removal in NJ was as much of a disaster as it was here.”
How do you know it was a disater, if, as you state in the sentence before, no one was covering NJ? Did you personally go there to review the clean-up?
Jackal, you should also have a Lincoln town car drive you up there from midtown at 10pm on a weeknight.
Also, will Mrs. jackal be working or at home when you are living there? One reason we didn’t move to the burbs is the thought of having us both in the City at work if something happened — emergency at school, or getting stuck here with blackout or 9/11-type major emergency. If one of us worked from home or locally to suburbs, decision tree would have been different.
We also have to deal with a media that’s so self centered they rarely cover anything outside of NYC. Snow removal in NJ was as much of a disaster as it was here, which is why some people are giving Christie so much flack for being in Florida, no matter how silly they sound.

Incorrect. The New Haven Line has bar cars.
ishtar- how did you manage to upset both benson AND pete with one innocuous comment? 😉
