Interesting comment, exactly my thoughts>
“Somewhat like the fatwas by fundamentalists in Pakistan on blasphemy, right wing leaders in the US have been brainwashing their followers about Obama and the Democrats being socialist, communist, H****r-like, against the US constitution, etc. […] these people wield the US constitution the way mullahs do the Quran”
My parents screwed up when they named me, and neither my first nor middle name was an appropriate name to be Baptized with.
Therefore, I have a Catholic-only second middle name of “Jude” that was used at my baptism and first communion.
I skipped out right before confirmation, so I did not get one of those names.
Thanks, noki.
denton> since the JFK assassination, every ‘incident’ HAS sparked a national debate on gun control. And after every incident, laws have been passed. And yet ‘incidents’ continue to happen. … since gun laws don’t seem to be having much effect
Not much of one since these ‘laws’ are hardly worth the paper they’re written on. And are steadily being dismissed by our rightwing Supreme Court.
The “debates” we have in this country are for a few days until the next news cycle. But if someone like you can be anti-gun-control, I see little hope?

Anne is not boring name. Very good choice. Bridget however sounds like Irish maid.

my confirmation name is Bridget.

Oh, yeah, we get Hebrew names, too. I couldn’t spell it if my life depended on it.
There seem to be a disproportionate number of atheists and agnostics in the OT. What does that say about all of us?
Ok – catching up/am still at temp job
Dibs – I totally agree with your earlier statement that the AZ shootings has stopped Sarah Palin’s political aspirations to be president.
I’m catholic and my middle name is Anne – boring!
my confirmation name is Bridget.
