  1. European music was influenced by Chinese music via trade routes — Silk road leading from Mongolia, Central China through the Middle East to Europe. The Europeans came to US. We’re all connected baby. What we’ve got going on here big time which is special is Afro fusion through jazz.

  2. g10, Americans hate jazz. They also hate Western Classical music. I believe about 3% market penetration for each. Disagree?

Jazz musicians starved here, and still do. They go where they are appreciated, which is Europe and Japan. Japan loves Jazz, all the best Blue Note released and so much more lovingly re-released on high quality vinyl.

A few weeks ago we caught Dianne Schur at JALC. Hardly anyone under 50, and almost all white people. Which is about what you see at any given jazz or classical event.

  3. g10, just china along is 550 Million addressable mkt and that’s growing. many dont speak or appreciate anything but chinese. just dominating that crowd would push them into globals album sales leader.
