Jazz musicians starved here, and still do. They go where they are appreciated, which is Europe and Japan. Japan loves Jazz, all the best Blue Note released and so much more lovingly re-released on high quality vinyl.
A few weeks ago we caught Dianne Schur at JALC. Hardly anyone under 50, and almost all white people. Which is about what you see at any given jazz or classical event.
g10, just china along is 550 Million addressable mkt and that’s growing. many dont speak or appreciate anything but chinese. just dominating that crowd would push them into globals album sales leader.
Think of one tenth of one percent of China’s population – that’s all the market penetration you need to be a huge global company.

in other words, just add how many countries’ addressable mkt before you even come up with a # close to just China’s 550M people.
