  1. the witholding of restaurant posts has been happening for quite some time. seems sorta ridiculous. i made a comment once (that was legit) that never made it!!! all it was a comment about the generic storefront.

    *rob*

  2. And, as long as we’re talking about the mass bird deaths, how awesome would it be if 1000 geese dropped out of the sky dead right in front of the Park Slope Coop? Or maybe wherever the Brooklyn Paper has its offices?

  3. Apparently a bunch of people are considering all-night vigils in Propect Park this summer to protect the geese from the man. They may “lock arms” around the geese to defend them.

Westchester is not far enough. I’m starting to think Montana.

OTOH it would be good fun to hide in a tree with a nicely silenced rifle and pick off geese while they are doing their vigil. LOL.

  4. I’m hoping this coming spring the landlord and I can make it a eral garden in the back. Her yard had been used as a garbage dump for years before shebought the house and we’ve been cleaning it out since I moved in. With help of the neighborhood handyman last summer, it’s actually looking like a real backyard again.

  5. “-caterpillars/butterflies. Used to be lots of them! The caterpillars used to love London Plane trees especially.

-robins and bluejays. Used to be much more frequent.

On the other hand, Peregine Falcons and racoons have returned.”

    benson,

true, I’ve seen like one caterpillar in the past couple of years.
are the OT gardeners seeing those large green horned caterpillars on their tomato plants?

I managed to capture a Peregrine Falcon, munching on a freshly caught pigeon, on my video camera a few years ago.
    Amazing.

  6. I get honeybees every year – lots of them.
Have many jays – 3 pairs – & tons of robins year ’round.

blowfish – I agree w/ bxgrl about uti. Unless you’ve let box get too foul? Or there’s a stray hanging around your place (even outdoors or adjacent apt) & your cat smells pheromones?
