there were tons of cars stuck in the snow in Williamsburg last night. Very few of the sidewalks were shoveled (thank you stalled construction sites) – so had to walk in the middle of the street. bike lanes weren’t plowed either – the nerve!!
was very eerie! felt like a scene out of the movie “The Day After Tomorrow”
Looks like Bayridge is cleared to the point I can drive. Perhaps I will drive tomorrow morning to Hunter mtn. Do you think I will have problems driving there? I will take Verezano/turnpike/palisades/I87.
dona – If you get home before dark it should be easier. We’re above freezing so there’ll be a slight thaw.
Guy outside my house has been trying to get his car out for 45 minutes: didn’t see how he did it but he spun a 180 & is facing the wrong way. Arghh.
Dave, I came in here yesterday — maybe I should have fully shoveled in the am. I did the steps (without salt) but the sidewalk is a mess. This am the sidewalk was impossible, frozen. I’ll have to chip at it later when I go home.

I shutter to think what it’s all going to be like the next week or so as temps rise above freezing…one big, slushy, dirty mess.
Walking to the subway the crew from my building was clearing an intersection. As the light was against me, I hung back and let them work.
Three asshats march up and stand right on the curb and blithely wait for the light to change, so the three men had to stop and stand around. Idiots!
Good Morning!!! It ia a beautiful day in the neighborhood – till you reach the slushy intersection.
I’m at work today. Yesterday everything was shut down which was good as I was stuck in Boston. It’s going to be a quiet week.
It felt good to finally break out my boots!
